InspirAction is seeking a Partnership and Development Manager to grow supporter base in the U.S.

InspirAction USA, a start-up 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in New York City, is looking for a dynamic, intrepid team-player to grow and expand an individual, foundation and corporate supporter base in the US. A successful candidate will collaborate with the Executive Director (New York) and Grants Manager (London) to service existing and future supporters of InspirAction USA.

InspirAction’s mission is to support communities affected by circumstances of poverty to become agents of change within their lifetime, for themselves and their posterity. InspirAction does this by focusing on three main areas of work in the sustainable development and humanitarian sectors. Firstly, the organization supports programs and advocacy that address the social, economic and political consequences of growing inequality- particularly for women, indigenous communities and LGBTI people around the world. Secondly, InspirAction responds to the increasing incidences of natural disasters and violence with humanitarian interventions in partnership with local and community based first-line responders. Lastly, InspirAction’s work supports and enables the unification of efforts for both human rights and environmental protection in the Amazon Rainforest.

InspirAction is a sister organization of Christian Aid, a UK based international NGO that has over 70 years of experience working with local communities, organizations and individuals. Christian Aid has invested in the start-up of InspirAction through direct monetary and staff support. This global partnership with Christian Aid leverages the well-established project and impact footprint already in place with the emergence of new innovative and target programs supported and facilitated by InspirAction.

Role

The Partnership and Development Manager will be responsible, in collaboration with the Executive Director, to raise financial resources and meet fundraising goals in support of InspirAction’s organizational and programmatic plan. She or he will cultivate major gifts from corporate philanthropic entities, impact investors, foundations, trusts and will collaborate in outreach to individual supporters. The Partnership and Development Manager must be able to work efficiently, respectfully and mindfully in multi-cultural and intercultural settings.

A successful candidate will seek creative and innovate solutions to complex challenges – intrinsic to a start-up organizational reality. This person must be a self-starter, strategic thinker, collaborator and driven by the values of InspirAction. The Partnership and Development Manager will have some domestic and international travel duties, and some external facing/ representational responsibilities, and therefore must be comfortable effectively engaging with diverse stakeholders.

Required experience and skills include:

  • A minimum of three years experience in institutional development, fundraising, corporate partnerships or related field.
  • Master’s degree or relevant professional experience in Business, International Relations, Economics or other relevant field of study/ experience.

Preferred experiences and skills include:

  • Fluency/ proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese or French
  • Experience and/or exposure to international development or humanitarian interventions
  • Grant and technical writing experience
  • Communications or social media experience or acumen

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. InspirAction offers an excellent benefits package. All full-time employees qualify for paid time off including vacation, sick and personal days, family leave and most national holidays. InspirAction is unable to assist with any form of relocation dispensation.
